Why should I come to this?

If you are curious about how to make your Drupal site sing, this set of workshops is for you. Learn the basics and best practices in the morning, and explore more in-depth topics in the afternoon. Join other Drupalers, from newbies to experts, as we discuss what's involved in making beautiful sites that are functional and easy to use.

This is an informal event: we start the first workshop at 10:30am, break for lunch at 12:30, resume with up to three concurrent sessions in two 45-minute time slots in the afternoon. We have left lots of time and space to have side discussions.

Do I have to be an expert Drupaller?

We hope to have something to offer all skill levels at this event: if you're new to Drupal, you can get a good sense of what's involved in customizing your site. If you are experienced in Drupal we will have enough of your colleagues at this event that you can talk shop.

How do I register?

Enter your details on this site here. It's a free event, but we would love you to volunteer to help us set up or lead a discussion on a themeing topic you are interested in.

What will this cost me?

Nothing. Nada. Zip. Our sponsor, the Centre for Social Innovation, is supplying the space for free (and it's pretty great).  We are running this entirely on volunteer efforts, so feel free to volunt eer to help out when you sign up.

What about lunch? Coffee?

The sessions won't cost you anything but you will want to bring $8.00 for lunch, which we will order in (we're in Chinatown and right near NOW Magazine's vote for Best $5 Lunch - Mother's Dumplings and Furama, an awesome Japanese bakery)  Of course, you can bring your own lunch or go buy your own if you want - we even have a fridge to store it in.

Where is this all happening?

We are on the fourth floor of 215 Spadina Avenue in Toronto - map here. It's the Centre for Social Innovation, a big collaborative workspace on Spadina south of Dundas.

What if I have a question that is not answered here?

You can get in touch with us at martin [at] avatarinteractive [dot] ca or eric [at] squair [dot] ca with any questions, call 647 405 3742 for day-of queries.

Do you realize your theme is a bit... dorky?

Yes. We are fully aware of the irony of having a somewhat goofy theme for our website promoting workshops on making Drupal look great. We think it's very 'meta', and clearly illustrates the Cobbler's Children problem.
